The great news and sports coverage that the Tri-City TRIBUNE has provided for decades will continue to strive for excellence under the new owners that make up, Platte Valley Media, LLC. 
The Tri-City TRIBUNE was purchased by Scott Wesner and Scott Wood, the owners of Platte Valley Media, LLC from previous owner and publisher Nancy Dorsey. The transaction was finalized on January 5th. 
“The Tri-City TRIBUNE has been an incredible newspaper and will continue to be a excellent newspaper serving the communities of Cozad, Gothenburg, Lexington, Eustis, Farnam and Elwood” expressed Platte Valley Media LLC Co-Owner Scott Wesner. “ We will continue to uphold the elite standard of journalism that has been established since the beginning of the Tri-City TRIBUNE. 
Platte Valley Media, LLC also owns the Gothenburg Times publication. 
Scott Wesner and Scott Wood graduated from high school together in Cordell, Oklahoma. Both wholeheartedly have believed and continue to believe in the importance of print media and the benefits that communities gain from weekly publications. 
Wesner who now lives in Austin Texas, has been in the newspaper publishing business for over 23 years. He and his brother Brett purchased their first newspaper together when he was just 19 years old and Brett also remains in the newspaper business with papers in Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas. Wesner is the father of two children, Hanna and William. 
Scott Wood got his start in the newspaper industry in 1997 in West Texas and in 2003, he moved to Muenster, Texas where he acquired three area newspapers. Wood and his wife Deborah have two children, Emma and Sarah. 
The experiences and knowledge of the print media business that Wesner and Wood have will be instrumental in the continued success of the Tri-City TRIBUNE for many more decades. 
Prior to the change of ownership, The Dorsey family had been the sole owners of the Tri-City Tribune. In 1965 on November 16th, Dean Dorsey founded the Tri-City TRIBUNE, one of Central Nebraska’s first offset-produced newspapers.
The Tri-City TRIBUNE has been an awarding winning publication with over 400 Nebraska Press Association (NPA) and Ak-Sar-Ben/Conagra Awards including many Nebraska Press Association General Excellence accolades being earned.
