The Dawson County Fair is set to start on July 8th and stretch to July 16th. This year’s theme is Ridin’ Rockin’ & Livestockin’.
Along with the always popular 4-H exhibits and the carnival will be many events that will be sure to entertain the masses in attendance on the Fairgrounds.
The Stock Car Races are always fan favorites. During the fair, races will be held on July 9th & 16th starting at 6 p.m.
There will be a Special Praise Concert being hosted by L2 for Kids on Wednesday, July 12th. The admission cost of the concert is $5, advance tickets are also available.
On Wednesday, if you bring a can of food to donate to local food pantries, you will receive $5 off of an armband.
Five lucky kids will have new wheels if they are unveiled as the winners in the bicycle drawing that will be held at the Carnival.
The music will bring you to your feet on Thursday, July 13th when the Fun Pianos Show entertains with their dueling pianos performance.
The ever popular Beef Show will start promptly at 8 a.m. on Friday morning. In the afternoon at Stevens Arena will be the sheep show, starting approximately at 1 p.m.
Landslide will be performing as “Fleetwood Mac” on July 14th at 8 p.m. General admission is $10 for the show with kids age 5 and under free for the show.
The Swine show will be held on Saturday morning starting at 8 a.m.
The small animal show will be held Saturday afternoon.
The Dawson County Cattlemen will host a free will donation Hamburger Feed on Saturday evening, July 15th starting at 5 p.m.
On Sunday, July 16th at 6 p.m. will be the Lexington Raceways featured night that includes all IMCA Classes and the NeSmith Late Models.
The Carnival will open on Wednesday, July 12th and stretch into the night of July 16th.
Make sure and check out the exhibits and show animals that the youth of Dawson County have worked very hard to prepare in hopes of punching their ticket to the State Fair in August and September.
