The 12th Annual Mission to Cozad (M2C) will take place Thursday, July 26th – Sunday, July 30th. M2C is open to ALL students in Grades 7 – 12.
This year’s theme is ‘Called By Name’, based on Isaiah 43:1: “But now, this is what the Lord says – he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: ‘Do not fear, for I have redeemed you: I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”
Registration will take place at 5 p.m. at the Church of Christ on Newell Street if you have not registered on line at missiontocozad/facebook.com You may also register by calling Mike at 308-325-0504 or Paul at 308-325-4903.
A food drive for the Cozad Food Pantry will take place from 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. followed by a spaghetti supper.
After supper, worship time, small group discussion and game time will be on the agenda. Worship Leader Carter Hollis from Kearney will be in charge of the music assisted by members of the Cozad Bible Church’s Praise Team.
Sharing the speaking duties each evening will be Caleb Perkins and members of his team who are returning for the 4th straight year, bringing “THE FIRE”. This former Specials Ops Forces sniper turned evangelist has become a favorite of all M2C participants and will be sharing the joy, hope and freedom found in knowing whom you are.
A special treat is on tap for Thursday evening as Troy Wuehler and Greg Hartman
will be setting off a fireworks display at dusk for the participants to enjoy.
Service projects in the community will be on the agenda from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
A pool party is scheduled for Saturday evening at Muny Park.
Area churches and organizations are providing the meals throughout the weekend and the Community Wellness Center is providing shower facilities. Participants and sponsors spend the nights at the Church of Christ.
The weekend will conclude with a community worship service at Chipper Hall at 10:30 a.m. A sloppy joe lunch will be served following the service with drinks and tableware provided. Anyone who can provide a salad or dessert for the meal is welcome to do so.
