Harriet M Block, 95, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died August 16th, 2017 in Gothenburg, Nebraska.  
  She was born November 24th, 1921 in Callaway, Nebraska daughter of Arthur Charles and Elsie Roberta (Oberg) Tickle. Harriet accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a young child. Her faith and strength carried her thru life and gave her an inner peace and happiness that was expressed in her cheerful smile. 
  Harriet married James O. Block on March 17th, 1947 at Gothenburg. She was a busy wife and mother, helping her husband with his beekeeping business and grain elevators. She spent many years working as a secretary for several businesses. She was member of the Red Hats and enjoyed helping out the Senior Center with their Bingo fundraising games. 
  The Block family thanks you for your years of friendship and your expressions of love and sympathy. 
  Surviving include daughter, Charlotte (Lyle) Sitorius of Brady, Nebraska, daughter, Cynthia Cary of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, son, Jim (Peggy) Block of Lexington, Nebraska, 7 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 13 great grand children along with nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. 
  Harriet was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Dale and Luella.
  Visitation was held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Friday, August 18, 2017.
  Funeral Services were held at Evangelical Free Church 1721 Lake Ave, Gothenburg, Nebraska, Saturday, August 19th, 2017 with Pastor Scott Newman officiating.  
  Interment followed in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
