Cozad and Gothenburg challenged for supremacy at the Southwest Conference (SWC) Wrestling Tournament held in McCook on Friday afternoon. 
The Swedes were second in the team race with 160.5 points, trailing only Broken Bow’s crown winning total of 185 points. Cozad was fourth overall with 121 points. 
Leading the way for the Swede grapplers was gold medalist Jeremy Larson (113 lbs), Noah Gugelman (195) and Pat Hudson (285). Gugleman recorded three straight pins to win the crown. Larson and Hudson had first round byes that were soon accompanied by two pins each for the Swedes. 
Blake Hoffmaster of Cozad was the lone gold medalist for the Haymakers. Hoffmaster won the gold medal match via pinfall over Dawson Holsten of Minden at the 5:04 mark of their 138 lb match. Hoffmaster reached the final round by defeating Noah Larson of Gothenburg, 3-0. 
Earning silver medalist honors for the Haymakers was Jace Russman (120) and Garrett Savick (170). 
Earning runner-up accolades for Gothenburg was Wyatt Hotz (132) and Zane Platter (182). 
Bringing home bronze medals for Coach Derek Hammerlun’s Haymakers were: Josh Stallbaumer (285), Taylor Yancy (182) and Conner Wescoat (160). 
Gothenburg got valuable team points from Will Mannel (126), Noah Larson (138) and Hunter Baker (145) all finishing with third place accolades.
